He met a girl and he wrote for her A journal to Stella.
He suffered Meniere's Disease which caused him hearing loss and damage in the inner ear. He was dead in 1745 and he was buried in St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin, Ireland.
He wrote his own epitaph in latin and William Butler Yeats translated it.

He wrote Modest Proposal in 1729 and this was a way of mock of poor people. Here, he said that economics can be improved by selling children as food.
He also wrote Gulliver's Travels which is divided into 4 parts:
- A voyage to Lilliput.
- A voyage to Borbdingnag.
- A voyage to Laputa, Balnibarbi, Glubbdubdrib, Luggnagg and Japan.
- A voyage to the country of Houyhnhnms.
